Berdyansk Port Development Plan Gets OK

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has approved the Berdyansk Seaport Development Plan, including the short-to-medium and long-term perspective approved by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

According to USPA, the Berdyansk procedure provides for the implementation of investment projects for construction and reconstruction of six berths and two grain terminals.

Under this capital development  plan, USPA will manage the development which includes reconstruction of berths number 6, 7, 8 and 9, and construction of berths 10 and 11.

Commenting the latest news, Raivis Veckagans, the head of USPA, said: “The economy of the region and the lives of thousands of Ukrainians depend on the development and successful operation of the Ukrainian ports in the Azov Sea.”

“Therefore, we actively promote the implementation of investment projects in the ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol, we invest in the development of the port infrastructure in accordance with the plans of investors on the development of existing terminals and the construction of new facilities. 

“Today, large investment projects of USPA and public-private projects are already implemented in 9 Ukrainian ports.”

The Berdyansk Seaport Development Plan includes investments of $22 million.
