As reported, dredging works at the entrance to the marina will commence in September 2023 and will proceed until approximately early March 2024.

“Dredging will mainly occur Monday to Friday between the hours of 0700 and 1800hrs, with provision to take place during hours of darkness if required,” DoT said in the notice.

DoT contractor, Maritime Constructions will use a cutter suction dredge to remove the excess material from the waterway. The dredger will be equipped with floating & submerged pipelines to a length of 1.2km and marked with yellow buoys with flashing orange lights.

The dredge and connected pipeline will remain unmanned in the area of operation after normal operating hours for the duration of the works.
