Dredging of the entrance to the Oceanside Harbor began the week of April 22, 2024 with dredged sand being pumped onto the beach.

Yesterday, the City was informed that the dredge vessel experienced a substantial mechanical issue forcing the shut down of the dredge operation.

The dredge operators plan to dry dock the vessel in Long Beach to repair. At this time, there is no information on when the project will resume.

In the meantime, the pipe and equipment will remain in place, so please continue to use caution when at the beach.
