Last month, a CSD Beaver 65 left for Kalimantan, and now, a new TSHD Beagle 4 is on its way to the same region, Royal IHC said. These two dredgers were chosen by Jhonlin Group, one of the largest companies in Indonesia, to develop local dredging capacity.

The 650mm diameter CSD Beaver 65® has been extended for its new owner to enable efficient dredging to a depth of 25m. This cutter suction dredger will be used for channel maintenance in Kalimantan.

The dredger will be owned by Dua Samudera Perkasa, the port maintenance subsidiary of Jhonlin Group.

The Beagle® 4 is a standardised TSHD designed by IHC Dredging as a hopper dredger with a hopper volume of 4,000 m3 and a wide range of operational applications.

Like the Beaver®, it is fuel efficient, thanks to its optimised hull design, and can dredge to 25m depth. It is also a reliable dredger because of its high uptime and the efforts made to make it easy to maintain. The Beagle®, like the Beaver®, is put to work in Kalimantan shortly after its arrival in Indonesia and will be owned by Jhonlin Marine Trans, also a subsidiary of Jhonlin Group,” said Royal IHC.

Both dredgers are named after the sons of the founder of the Jhonlin Group: Jhoni 59 (CSD Beaver® 565) and Samson (TSHD Beagle® 4).
