Canada: Dredging of Marathon Harbour Completed

Crews have completed a major dredging project at Marathon’s Peninsula Harbour.

A $7.3 million operation to put down a 20 centimetre layer “cap” of coarse sand over an area of 200,000 square metres, was wrapped up at the beginning of this month.

According to Kenora Daily News, this dredging project was cost shared by the federal and provincial governments and a company that once had ties to the town’s dormant pulp mill.
