Corps Introduces Plan for Wethersfield Dredging Program

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, has introduced a plan for the Wethersfield maintenance dredging project.

This deepening program, located in Wethersfield, CT, consists of dredging in the Federal Navigation Channel and anchorage, 6 feet deep below mean lower low water (MLLW).

During this project, approximately 13,300 cubic yards of predominantly silt and very fine sand material will be dredged from the mentioned areas.

The estimated cost is between $500,000 and $1 mln. The implementation will occur in the winter of 2013-14 and is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
