Rudee Inlet Dredging Kicks Off

Public Works has announced that the dredge “Alaska” will arrive at Rudee Inlet and is expected to begin emergency dredging work this weekend.

The contractor will be dredging 70,000 to 100,000 cubic yards of sand, which will then be placed on the beach between 4th Street and 10th Street.

The work is expected to take about four days to complete, and then about a week to remove the equipment from the beach.

The contract for the emergency work is for $2.86 million and was awarded to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock of Oak Brook, Illinois.
