VIDEO: Lae Port Development Project

When fully finished, the Lae port development project will be a significant addition to Papua New Guinea’s transport infrastructure.

New Lae Port will revolutionize operations, improve efficiencies and service levels for port users. It will serve as the central port for big ships travelling to the country and the Pacific region.

The Project consists of a steel pipe piled beam-slab wharf which is 240m long and 40m wide, an dug-in harbor basin which is 700m long and 400m wide, with a stacking area of around 60,700m².

The new tidal basin, berth and terminal, which are expected to be completed in 2015, will make a big contribution to the development of the region.
