USACE Seeks Bidders for Dredger Yaquina R&M Works (USA)

US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking eligible businesses to provide for the emergent support requirements and the yearly maintenance and overhaul / dry-docking of USACE Trailing Suction Hopper Dredge Yaquina with the base year dry-docking overhaul commencing on or about the 1st of October 2011 and the operating season support commencing in March 2012.

Yaquina has an Overall Length of 200 ft, a Beam of 58 ft, a Normal Light Draft Aft of 10 ft, 3 in and is 2,001 Long Tons. The USACE Portland District maintains a USCG Certificate of Inspection as well as an American Bureaus of Shipping (ABS) Loadline for the YAQUNA and all work must meet the standards of those two regulatory bodies.

All overhaul / dry-dock work is to be performed at the contractor’s facility on or about the above mentioned dates. The emergent support requirements may be accomplished at the contractor’s facility or possibly wherever the vessel may be operating, as determined by the Portland District and the dredge’s operating schedule.

Area of consideration for the overhaul / dry-docking period is the North West Coast of the Continental US. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on/about 15 June 2011. Major work items associated with this overhaul/dry-docking include: Hopper staging and steel repairs, bow thruster remount, drag arm system winch repairs and machinery overhauls, valve repairs, replacements and general ship systems maintenance and repair work.
