Philippines: Davao City Plans to Buy Dredger

The Davao City Government is planning to purchase a dredging machine to address the possible flooding in areas near the riverbanks.

Officials have already submitted a proposal for the dredging machine and are awaiting the results.

Andrew Lipardo of the City Engineer’s Office is hopeful that they will be able to acquire the machine this year and start cleaning up waterways and rivers in the city to prevent flash floods in disaster-prone areas.

Acquisition of this dredging machine should cost approximately P48 million.
