USA: Completion of Long Beach Dredging Scheduled for July

Long Beach dredging project pushes to meet deadline, reports mercurynews.com.

Long Beach dredging crews are dredging the bay’s Basin 1 around the clock.

City’s Marine Bureau manager Mark Sandoval says that a total of 60,000 cubic yards of sediment will be moved.

One part of the dredged material will be used for the port’s Middle Harbor terminal redevelopment project.

The remaining yards of clean sediment will be moved out to the ocean.

The dredging will include using a “DB-24,” a 60-by-120-foot, 120-ton derrick barge with a clamshell bucket.
