USA: Blind Pass Dredging Starts Soon

A long-awaited dredging project off Sanibel may start Monday after being delayed for several weeks due to weather and mechanical issues.

According to nbc-2.com, this dredging project will take place at Blind Pass, between Sanibel and Captiva.

Equipment is in place to remove 120,000 cubic yards of sand and put it back on the shore near Bowman’s Beach.

When completed, the pass will deepen the waters for boaters, make the waters livable for marine life, and bring more sand to the beaches.
