Ireland: County Council Invites Bids for Wexford Sewall Repair Works

Wexford County Council has invited bidders to submit their offers for the sewall repair works.

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to carry out rehabilitation works to a 120m long section of uncoursed random rubble seawall incorporating the removal of a high level existing wall, the removal of all existing clay brickwork from the existing wall and the removal of two sections of disused Irish Rail railway track and associated sleepers and buffers to the rear of the wall.

New works include the rebuilding of damaged and collapsed sections of the wall, the increasing in height of the wall using rubble and a concrete capping beam, removal of the existing pointing and repointing of entire length of wall using lime mortar, the construction of a new reinforced concrete support wall to the rear of the entire length of the wall with associated strip foundations.

The deadline for this tender is August 30, 2012.
