The Netherlands Provides Dredging Training to Bangladeshi Experts

The Training Institute for Dredging (TID) of IHC, the Netherlands, together with UNESCO-IHE, will organize two training sessions for Bangladeshi experts.

The first group of trainees from Bangladesh Water Development Board has started exercises on August 15, and it will last 4 weeks.

These staffs are responsible for capital dredging of the river systems in Bangladesh.

The second group, consisting of policy level high officials of MoWR will visit the Netherlands in October to explore dredging related opportunities.

These trainings are fully funded by the Government of Bangladesh and aims to provide the participants with the knowledge to optimize the dredging operations both technically and economically including planning, monitoring and sediment management aspects of a dredging project and dredgers.
