Indonesia: Cisadane River Dredging Underway

Cisadane River Dredging Underway

Tangerang City residents, hundreds of Indonesian Military (TNI) troops and members of the TNI family association FKPPI, have joined together to dredge the Cisadane River in Neglasari district.

Tirta Benteng, the president director of Marju Kodri, said: “The volume of water from the Cisadane River has continued to decline in recent months because of the prolonged drought. The clean water production of PDAM has been affected by this condition.”

According to the Jakarta Post, Tangerang Military District commander Lt. Col. Dani Wardani said that he would deploy troops to help dredge several other rivers in Tangerang in the near future.
