Philippines: Group Against Manila Bay Land Reclamation

The contractor that won the P 14-billion land reclamation project at the coastal areas of Las Pinas and Paranaque is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and has never submitted any financial statement to SEC, the Fisherfolk Alliance stated.

Fernando Hicap, the Pamalakaya national chairperson and Anakpawis party list vice chair, said: “The Filipino public is hereby informed that the P 14-B land reclamation project in Las Pinas and Paranaque is a grand scam, highly anomalous and certified illegal.”

He added: “Imagine, a P 14-B reclamation project is awarded by the Philippine government to a company which does not exist physically and materially speaking. On the contrary, the company only exists in the minds of people with sinister, corrupt and evil agenda.”

According to remate.ph, the Pamalakaya and 11 other groups appealed to the Supreme Court to allow them to intervene in the case filed by former Las Pinas Rep. Cynthia Villar against the P 14-B reclamation project.
