Australia: Preparations for Port Augusta Dredging Underway

According to the ABC News, plans for the repair and upgrade needed to Taylor’s Landing boat ramp at Port Augusta are in the final stages.

A 350 cubic metres of material needs to be dredged from the harbour sea floor,” said Brenton Daw, the Port Augusta City Council senior technical officer.

He stated that the boat ramp needs to be extended by up to 12 metres.

“There’s some excavation to do with the construction of the ramp and there’ll be some excavation or dredging work to do with the re-levelling of the sea floor to cater for the new ramp being constructed,” he concluded.
