Van Oord Decides to Strengthen Executive Board

After a long career of nearly 40 years COO P.H.G. (Peter) de Ridder will be leaving Van Oord to retire on 1 January 2013.

The Supervisory Board of Van Oord has, in consultation with the Executive Board, decided to strengthen the Executive Board with two Van Oord members.

J.B.E.M. (Joep) Athmer (57) and C.A. (Niels) de Bruijn (49) will be appointed member of the Executive Board with effect from 1 January 2013. Both have a long record of service with the company. During his almost thirty year career Mr Athmer was responsible for amongst others operations in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Ireland and the world-wide offshore activities. Niels de Bruijn was responsible for activities in Spain, the Middle East and Asia/Australia during his twenty year career with the company.

As of 1 January next the Executive Board of Van Oord consists of P. (Pieter) van Oord CEO, P.W. (Paul Verheul) COO, A.J. (Arjan) van de Kerk CFO, J.B.E.M. (Joep) Athmer and C.A. (Niels) de Bruijn.
