Brazil: CONAMA Adopts Resolution 454/2012

The National Environment Council of Brazil (CONAMA) adopted the Resolution 454/2012.

This Resolution replaces the Resolution 344/2004 and establishes general guidelines and procedures for managing dredged material.

The new rule mainly covers dredging activities in port areas and inland waterways, and has to be followed during the environmental licensing of these projects.
