Public Comments Invited on Comprehensive Study Report

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is conducting a comprehensive study environmental assessment for the Randle Reef Sediment Remediation Project located in Ontario.

The public is invited to comment on the Comprehensive Study Report for this proposed project.

The Comprehensive Study Report includes the conclusions and recommendations regarding the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures and whether or not the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The Proposed Project

This project involves the construction of a capped engineered containment facility (ECF) of about 7.5 ha, consisting of a peninsula attached to Hamilton Port Authority’s Pier 15. The ECF would cover in-situ about 130,000 m³ of contaminated sediments and contain about 500,000 m³ of dredged contaminated sediments from the surrounding areas.
