India: Damodar, Banka Dredging to Prevent Flooding

According to the State Irrigation Minister Rajib Bandyopadhyay, the Irrigation Department will undertake dredging works in the lower basin of river Damodar and Banka in Burdwan district.

This dredging program should prevent flooding in the monsoon at the mentioned area, reports business-standard.com.

The government estimated that the project could cost around Rs 2,000 crore.
