Mill Creek Landing Closed for Dredging

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF) closed Mill Creek Landing at Wake on the Rappahannock River through April to dredge sand from the front and inside of the boat ramp and install sheet piling to inhibit further sand accumulation.

This dredging program is expected to be finished by mid-March and the landing reopened by mid-April, according to ssentinel.com.

After dredging, a hydrographic survey will have to be conducted to determine the quantity of sand removed and depth verification, said DGIF spokesperson Ed Carr.
