Corps Introduces St. Lucie Inlet Dredging Program

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has introduced a plan for the St. Lucie Inlet dredging program.

Project work consists of maintenance dredging on the Federal navigation channel at St. Lucie Inlet and the adjoining impoundment basin to their authorized depths with disposal in the designated beach placement area approximately 4.5 miles south of the inlet between Monuments R-59 and R-75.

Work also includes beach tilling, turbidity monitoring, and manatee observers.

The total value of this development project is between $5 mln and $10 mln.
