Cassidy Supports Coastal Restoration Projects (USA)

Cassidy Pushes for Coastal Restoration Projects

Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) released the following statement on August 29, 2013, regarding the 8th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina:

“Eight years ago, Louisiana suffered a devastating blow, with lives lost, families separated and property damaged. On this anniversary, we are reminded of those losses and resolved to completing our recovery.

“We must do our best to prevent future tragedies. Levees, coastal restoration and hurricane protection must be expedited for approval, funding and completion. The legacy of these storms also now includes addressing issues of the National Flood Insurance Program. Washington must understand these are not merely local concerns but national issues with major economic ramifications. We will push to solve these challenges.”
