East Twin River Dredging Project Underway

Dredging of the East Twin River began earlier this month, about a week sooner than originally planned.

Project contractor, Roen Salvage of Sturgeon Bay, mobilized their barges and cranes to the harbor at Two Rivers, and the first truckload of harbor sediments left the downtown harbor dock, bound for the disposal site.

Dredging and hauling activity should continue 24/6 (Sundays off) for the next 4-6 weeks.

The project involves removing an estimated 63,000 cubic yards of material from the federal channel of the East Twin River, from downstream of the 17th Street to the 22nd Street bridge.
