Ellicott Plans to Supply Dredgers to Bangladesh

Ellicott Dredges, one of the oldest dredging equipment companies in the world, expresses its intention to supply dredging equipment to the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), reports thefinancialexpress-bd.com.

This program should be realized in collaboration with the Bangladesh-based Ananda Shipyard and Slipways Ltd (ASSL).

Regarding this issue, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister AMA Muhith, and Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chandra Sen, recently received a letter from the US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.

I wish to express the support of the US government for the participation of the Ellicott Dredges in the dredging project. Because the Ellicott Dredges will be partnering with the ASSL, your local firm will expand its capabilities and benefit from working with this industry leader. This effort would contribute to strengthening of the commercial relationship between the two countries,” Pritzker wrote.

Ellicott’s dredgers are used for sand dredging, harbor and navigation maintenance, water reservoir restoration, river and channel dredging, beach restoration and erosion control, and environmental cleanup projects.

I am confident that your government will find that the Ellicott Dredges offers compelling technology for good value,” concluded Pritzker.
