Flood Control Asia 2013 Begins Tomorrow

Thailand will host Flood Control Asia 2013, Asia’s first Flood Control and Protection Technology Exhibition on 29 – 31 October 2013 at BITEC, Bangkok.

Co-located with Asia Flood Conference 2013, this event would bring together professional flood protection companies and experts who will share ideas and showcase the latest technologies to tackle the persistent flood problems in Thailand.

Thailand’s Flood Protection Budget

Thai Government has allocated more than 53 billion baht in the 2012 fiscal year to promote integrated water management and water resources management.

Out of the amount, 45.28 billion baht has been set aside for better and more systematic water management to enhance the efficiency of Thailand in preventing, mitigating, and tackling recurring floods and droughts.

Infrastructure And Water Management Projects

Thailand’s cabinet approved on a 350 billion baht budget for infrastructure and water management aimed at restoring investor confidence and averting a repeat of the recent devastating flood crisis.

The cabinet also agreed a separate 50 billion baht worth of insurance funding and a plan to establish a single command body for the national water management, said Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Kittirat Na Ranong.
