San Diego to Host Maritime Economic Development Workshop (USA)
The 2014 Maritime Economic Development Workshop is scheduled for February 20 – 21, 2014, San Diego, CA.
The theme of the 2014 Maritime Economic Development Workshop is Tackling Port Economic Development Challenges and Measuring Effectiveness.
Port authorities and their private-sector partners invest a great deal of time and money into outreach and marketing activities to attract customers, generate business, address stakeholder concerns and uniquely “brand” their organization. In the near-term, the results of these efforts are often difficult to quantify or measure.
This workshop will incorporate presentations from experts, along with interactive, facilitated problem-solving discussions, to identify key economic development challenges at ports, recommend methods for solving them, and discuss measurement techniques to help ensure a port’s limited resources are being used most effectively.
