The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, has presented a plan for the Guilford Harbor area dredging program.

The proposed project will involve maintenance dredging of the Congressionally-authorized Federal Navigation Project (FNP) located in Guilford Harbor, CT, an anchorage located in the East River and Sluice Creek Channel.

In addition to these areas, the Town of Guilford marina will also be dredged.

During the cleanup work, approximately 60,000 cubic yards of sandy material will be removed from these spots.

The work is scheduled for the fall and winter of 2014-15 and is expected to last 10 to 12 weeks. The estimated value is between $1 mln and $5 mln.
