The City of Madison–Engineering Division is proposing a project in Wingra Creek, near the Parks Maintenance Facility and Quann Dog Park.
The project will stabilize the creek banks, as well as realign the channel to provide a more natural appearance. Realigning the channel will consist of constructing littoral shelves in a meandering pattern and dredging the channel.
“Due to additional project requirements and increased material costs for some items, we will need to slightly revise the project. We will be discussing the proposed changes at a public meeting on Monday, September 15th, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the community space of Arboretum Cohousing, located at 1137 Erin Street,” they announced.
“The channel dredging and littoral shelf (meander) construction will still occur. We will discuss possible material changes, dredge depth, and quantity of floating wetland installations.”
