Marinex Nabs $18.4 M Dredging Contract

Marinex Construction, Inc., from Charleston, South Carolina, has won an $18.4 million firm-fixed-price contract for dredging approximately 3 to 6 million cubic yards of maintenance material from the Savannah and Brunswick inner harbors.

The estimated completion date of this dredging project is February 20, 2016.

Bids were solicited via the Internet, with two received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is the contracting activity.

Marinex Construction, Inc., operated by its President, F. Hammond Johnson, who has been in the dredging business since 1969, specializes in marine construction with an emphasis on channel and fill dredging and river and harbor improvements.
