Minister Ellwood Tours New Suez Canal Project

British Minister for the Middle East Tobias Ellwood has met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The meeting came at the end of a three-day British trade mission led by Mr Ellwood, which was the largest to Egypt in over ten years.

The Minister arrived in Cairo last Monday leading the largest trade mission to Egypt, involving over 40 companies to discuss increasing investment and trade between the two countries.

Mr Ellwood also visited the digging and dredging sites of the New Suez Canal and met Chairman of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamesh who presented the Egyptian government’s development plan for the international water passage.
