VIDEO: North-Holland Dredging Scheme (DEME)

The dredging works on 43 km of waterways in the northern part of North-Holland officially started on November 6, 2014.

To obtain an optimization between value and price, the Province of North-Holland tendered the project as a ‘Best Value Procurement’ contract.

De Vries & van de Wiel (DEME Group) has successfully obtained the contract for this project.

After dredging, the waterways will be entirely navigable and they will meet the legal requirements.

These waterways are divided into 4 sections:

– Schagerkoggekanaal to Kolhornerdiep;

– Kraspolderkanaal to Langedijkervaart;

– Huigenvaart;

– Markervaart Noord to Kogerpolderkanaal.
