New Expert to Steer Future of North West Canals
A leading urban regeneration specialist, with strong links to the North West of England, has been appointed to chair the North West Partnership, announced the Canal and River Trust.
Bob Pointing will take on the voluntary leadership role with the charity this month and chair his first bi-monthly partnership meeting in March.
“Bob will now lead the partnership as it continues to work with our local waterway manager Chantelle Seaborn providing direction for the future care of the Leeds & Liverpool and Lancaster canals in Lancashire, Merseyside and West Yorkshire,” the Trust stated.
The North West Partnership was formed three years ago to give local people a voice in the development and management of their local waterways so they can help shape plans, guide the spending decisions, develop local engagement and external funding, and champion the interests of the waterways.
