Hong Kong Coliseum Works Begin

Marine works involving site investigation, dredging works and construction of tunnel will be carried out for the next 30 months in the area off Hong Kong Coliseum, Hung Hom.

According to the Marine Department of Hong Kong, the works will be carried out by a flotilla of vessels including three derrick barges, one hopper barge, one jack-up barge and some tugs. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

Working area of approximately 50 meters will be established around the barges. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.

Silt curtains, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area.

The crews will perform works in the area from 0700 to 1900 hours, except for Sundays and public holidays.
