Sparkes Marina Dredging Begins Next Week
Maintenance dredging at the visitors’ berths at Sparkes Marina is scheduled to start on Monday, 23 March, 2015, according to Chichester Harbor’s Notice to Mariners.
Dredging is expected to continue for 2 days, subject to weather. The dredged material will be disposed of at the Nab Tower Spoil Grounds.
Dredging at Sparkes Marina will be undertaken by the 22m backhoe dredger Witton II, which will be towed to and from the sites. Dredged material will be transported to the disposal area in the 42m split hopper barge Split Two.
All vessels included in the project will display the lights and shapes required by the collision regulations. Mariners are requested to give these vessels a wide berth in the confined waters of Chichester Harbor.
