Third and Final Kempsey CZMP Presented

The Kempsey Shire Council has been working on coastal management plan that will deal with the issues such as climate change, rising water levels and coastal erosion.

Detailed analysis of these processes and the resulting hazards were presented recently in the third and final report named the Kempsey Coastal Zone Management Plan.

The report was prepared under the state government Coastal Zone Management Program, in accordance with the Guidelines for preparing Coastal Zone Management Plans.

The plan include a range of approaches, such as: planning and development controls, monitoring, physical works, dune rehabilitation works, further investigations as well as environmental management.

The draft Kempsey Coastal Zone Management Plan (2015) will now be placed on public exhibition for a period of 40 days.
