Neumann Completes Currumbin Creek Dredging Project
Neumann Contractors has completed dredging of the Currumbin Creek, removing approximately 40,000m³ of sand from the area.
The works are an integral part of the Gold Coast City Council’s program to maintain and replenish the sand on Gold Coast beaches.
The annual dredging program also helps mitigate flooding and improve the water quality in Currumbin Creek.
Each year around 25-40,000 m³ of clean sand and dredged from Currumbin Creek to replenish the sand on Palm Beach.
The Nu Compact, a 250mm cutter suction dredge, a land based booster pump and up to 1.2km of pipeline were used to complete the works.
