River Thames Scheme Flyover

The Environment Agency has just released a video about the River Thames Scheme, explaining the proposed route for this project.

This section of the Thames is the largest area of developed floodplain in England without flood defenses. Over 15,000 homes and businesses within the area are at risk from flooding.

According to EA, the scheme is aimed to reduce flood risk to people living and working near the Thames and improve the resilience of local and nationally important infrastructure.

It will also provide a number of economic, social and environmental benefits.
