2nd Visit to Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls Scheme
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has just announced that the second site visit to the Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls Scheme will be organized on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Following on from last year’s visit to Shoreham as work began on the scheme, the visitors will have a chance to return and hear how the project is moving forward.
According to RICS, the private tour, hosted by Arcadis and the Environment Agency, will be a unique opportunity to see progress of a live scheme accompanied by those that have been involved in the project from contractor, designer, client and consultant, sharing their experiences and knowledge of how the scheme will or has impacted the local area.
The Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls scheme covers 7.2km of the River Adur and will improve the existing defenses utilizing steel sheet pile walls, reinforced concrete walls, embankments, erosion protection and a limited number of flood gates. The project also includes the creation of approximately 1.4ha saltmarsh habitat.
The contractor for the project is Team Van Oord and designer is Mott Macdonald.
