Our first Dredging Today Conference, moderated by Mr Alexander Verbeek – an Associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), took place on October 9-10, 2017, in Amsterdam RAI.
During the second day of DTC, we caught up with Mr Verbeek, and asked him about his opinion about climate change.
“I think most people don’t realize yet how serious the impact of climate change is going to be. Dredging community will be of enormous source of help for all those cities and places in the world that will need experience and knowledge to deal with these huge challenge,” commented Mr Verbeek.
At the event, all experts emphasized the importance of adapting to the potential negative effects by developing and implementing coastal protection and adaptation strategies.
