GLDD Nabs $113.1 Million Jacksonville Dredging Contract

Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company LLC, (GLDD) from Oak Brook, Illinois, has won a $113.1 million contract for the Jacksonville Harbor Federal Channel development project.

According to the latest U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) announcement, this capital project will include two new turning basins, widening, dredging and construction for the deepening and strategic widening of the Jacksonville Harbor Federal Channel.

This contract also involves the following activities:

  • turbidity monitoring;
  • endangered species monitoring;
  • vibration monitoring;
  • beach fill quality control;
  • sea turtle non-capture trawling.

Bids were solicited via the internet with two received, said DoD.

Work will be performed in Jacksonville, Florida, with an estimated completion date of February 11, 2020.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, is the contracting activity.
