Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure Book – A Real Product of the Dredging Industry

With just a couple of weeks left till our CEDA-IADC Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure Conference, we took the opportunity to interview Mr. Gerard van Raalte, one of the editors of the CEDA-IADC Dredging for Sustainable Infrastructure guidebook that will be officially launched during the event.

Speaking about the publication, Mr Gerard van Raalte, a winner of CEDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award, said: “It’s a real product of the dredging industry. The dredging industry, mainly contractors and consultants, provide information they have gathered over the years, in relation to sustainable development of dredging projects to the outside world. This book can give guidance and assistance for those who want to learn more and want to use that knowledge for development.”

The two-day-long program (19 and 20 November), taking place in the heart of Amsterdam at the Beurs van Berlag, will gather professionals from all sectors involved in the realization of a dredging project.

Speakers from inside the industry – including Professor Dr. Patrick Meire (University of Antwerp), Jaap van Thiel de Vries (Boskalis), Dr. Mark Lee (HR Wallingford’s Dredging Group) and Dr. Todd Bridges (US Army Corps of Engineers) – are ready to share their views and experiences with the participants.

The Conference will confer quintessential knowledge for planners, designers, decision makers, regulators, contractors, project owners and environmental advocates.
