As such, the city has identified additional improvements that can be done, during the dredging, which would benefit the community’s use of Silver Lake Park. As a part of preparing for the project, they will host an Open House on March 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Silver Lake Station (702 W Silver Lake Drive NE).

The Open House will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback to the project team, the city said.

Commenting the news, Park and Forestry Division Head, Mike Nigbur, said: “The various contemplated projects being discussed from dredging, the North Broadway pedestrian access, dam modification and the north shore trail all have the potential to greatly enhance this iconic park and advance the Park System Plan the community adopted in 2016. We look forward to hearing what the community has to share about the proposals.”

Teammates from Public Works and Parks and Recreation will utilize the ideas and feedback gathered during the Open House and other forums to refine a proposal.
