Under the agreement, VolkerStevin will be working alongside other partners, including the Environment Agency, HR Wallingford, Jacobs and CIWEM to co-create STEM learning material, alongside a range of accredited online CPD modules, to complete the skills pipeline that the Center plans to offer.

The Government has committed to spending £2.3 billion by 2021 on improving flood defenses and resilience.

With this comes the need to ensure that people working across the infrastructure sector are equipped with the right skills to deliver on this investment with the correct Flood Resilience and Sustainability outcomes, said VolkerStevin in its release.

The Center’s ambition is to develop learning that delivers resilience awareness, creating a skills capacity roadmap for flood control methods, to shape and deliver the education solutions needed.
