GLDD Bags Navigation Project in Chesapeake City, Maryland
Last week, Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company LLC, Oakbrook, Illinois, won an $11.6 million Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) C&D Canal Maintenance Dredging contract.
According to the Department of Defense, the contract – awarded by the Army Corps’ Philadelphia District – includes maintenance dredging of the IWW C&D Canal federal navigation project in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
The works will be performed at various locations along the Inland Waterway Chesapeake and Delaware Canal and Upper Chesapeake Bay portion of this project.
Material removed during the project will be placed at Pearce Creek DMCF and Reedy Point South.
The dredging is set to begin in the next couple of weeks, with an estimated completion date of February 4, 2020.
