USACE has released this very interesting video about the Buffalo confined disposal facility 4 repair project.
In the video, Katie Lewis, civil engineer and contracting officers representative, gives a tour of the repair program.
The Buffalo confined disposal facility 4 is located at the south end of Buffalo Harbor.
The facility was constructed in 1977 by building a stone perimeter dike in order to contain dredged material.
Since the CDF was built, decades of storm wave action have deteriorated and shifted the large stones on the dike crest.
Also, this repair project will ensure the CDF continues to function as originally designed.
