MTCC kicks off Hithadhoo works

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) officially kicked off the physical works of S. Hithadhoo Habour Upgrade Project at a special function held at the island today.

The project was awarded to MTCC earlier this week.

Scope of works for the project will include:

• dredging and excavation operations – 234,297cbm;
• a 800m breakwater;
• a 284m quay wall;
• installation of 1,420sqm harbor pavement, harbor lights and navigational aids.

The value of the project is MVR 52.43 million ($3.4 million), said MTCC.

The S. Hithadhoo Old Harbor Upgrading Program is set to be completed within 365 days.
