Erie Harbor dredging PHOTO

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District contractor Ryba Marine Construction Co. has been busy lately dredging the Erie Harbor.

The harbor is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie in the City of Erie, PA about 98 Miles southwest of Buffalo.

According to the Corps, the 2021 dredging cycle will remove approx. 290,000 cubic yards of sediment from the Erie Harbor federal channel.

The maintenance dredging is required to maintain the functional harbor areas.

The harbor was last dredged in 2016, when approximately 285,000 CY of material was removed.
