The project included the construction of RC wharf and back-up area, doubling the Cantilan Port cargo operations.

During the event, DOTr Secretary Art Tugade introduced the long-term and essential benefits of the recently-completed expansion project, particularly for the handling of cargoes and cement shipments.

With the realization of the scheme, the port can now handle over 25,000 to 30,000 bags of cement shipments a month, and can handle twice its current cargo volume.

Also, the Cantilan Port expansion project is expected to facilitate more opportunities for livelihood and maritime trading in the region, thus spurring economic growth within its neighboring areas.
